In Loving Memory of Katelyn Byers – 1999–2025
The Winnipeg community is grieving the loss of Katelyn Byers, a talented and driven woman whose warmth, generosity, and quiet strength impacted all who knew her. Katelyn passed away unexpectedly, leaving a deep void in the hearts of her family, friends, and colleagues.
Born in 1999, Katelyn was a graduate of the Asper School of Business at The University of Manitoba, where she earned her degree in May 2022. During her university years, Katelyn worked as an Audit Intern at IG Wealth Management (formerly Investors Group), where she gained valuable experience that laid the foundation for her successful career.
In September 2022, Katelyn began her professional journey as an Audit Public at Deloitte LLP, where she quickly became a respected member of the team. She was passionate about her work and dedicated to her professional development, diligently pursuing her CPA designation. Katelyn had planned to write the CFE in September 2025, a testament to her ambition and commitment to her career.
Outside of work, Katelyn was known for her quiet, yet powerful, impact on the lives of those around her. She had a kind and giving spirit and was always there to support others. Her warmth and dedication to her family, friends, and colleagues will never be forgotten.
Katelyn’s passing has left her community heartbroken, but her memory will live on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but always remembered for the positive mark she made in this world.
