The passing of Ted Swagerty, born February 10, 1985, and departed from us on November 17, 2025, has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Ted was the life of every room he entered. His energy, laughter, and spirit illuminated the lives of all who crossed his path.
Ted was a man of hard work, loyalty, and genuine connection. As an apprentice electrician with EC Electric and a dedicated worker at Rip City Mushrooms, he approached every task with enthusiasm and integrity. Ted’s work ethic was built on humility, heart, and a deep desire to help others—a quality admired by all who had the privilege to work alongside him.
Though Ted made Portland his home, his journey began in Roseburg, Oregon, where he developed his kindness, humor, and resilience. Those closest to him will always remember his quick wit, adventurous nature, and the way he could find humor in even the most unexpected situations. One final story that perfectly captured his essence was his “honor walk” this morning, where a tire on the ambulance caught on a curb—a moment that, in its purest form, was quintessentially Ted.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, November 21, from 4:00–7:00 pm at Lucky Labrador, followed by a Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 22, at 11:00 am at St. Andrews Church, with a luncheon afterward. Ted’s legacy of love, humor, and wholehearted living will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved him.
Rest in peace, dear Ted. Your spirit will be cherished forever.
