The New Jersey community is mourning the loss of Jack Fanous, a beloved resident whose generosity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to others left a profound impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His passing has brought deep sorrow to his family, friends, and countless individuals whose lives he touched through his kindness, compassion, and steady presence.
Beyond his personal relationships, Jack was deeply committed to service, particularly in the veteran community. He entered the veterans services space 16 years ago as a civilian, founding the GI Go Fund after the death of his friend Seth Dvorin. The organization provides critical transition services, offering support to low-income and homeless veterans while helping them secure employment, education, and healthcare benefits. Today, the GI Go Fund stands as the largest veterans organization in New Jersey and one of the largest in the country.
Eight years ago, Jack also co-founded JobPaths, a technology solution connecting veterans and employers, helping translate military experience into civilian careers. Through his leadership, he applied years of experience from running job fairs to build a system that delivers real results for veterans and employers alike.
Jack’s dedication extended beyond family and friends, leaving a lasting mark on the community and the lives of countless veterans. His kindness, leadership, and the love he shared remain deeply imprinted on the hearts of those who knew him.
As family, friends, and colleagues gather to honor Jack’s memory, they celebrate a life lived with purpose, generosity, and impact. May he rest in eternal peace, and may his loved ones find comfort in the powerful and lasting legacy he leaves behind.
